The illustrations, and the imaginative presentation of the book as a whole, are designed to capture a child's attention - don't be misled by the simplicity of the cover! At times the poems introduce thinking points about the way human-beings treat creatures which live in the sea, changing the perspective and encouraging youngsters to be more caring and responsible than past generations. Overall though, the book is 'loads of fun' with poems demanding to be read and re-read many times.

"I bought this book for my nieces and nephews, aged 2 to 6, and love reading it to them. It is beautifully illustrated, the poems are fun, and it is great fuel for little imaginations. The jigsaw is also fantastic, great for children who are learning to read - as there are a couple of lines of text on it, and it comes with a little box they can make and store it in. The picture is very detailed and the children enjoy spotting ‘sea things’ they have read about in the book. The book and jigsaw are a brilliant combination that will keep you and your little ones entertained for hours"

Dear Carol, have now had a chance to look at your book and I think it's marvellous - the poems are well crafted and a real joy to read and the illustrations really add to the book - they're wonderful in themselves but add them to your poems and you've got a really good collection. And the design's brilliant as well. It's a book to be proud of.
